Re: quilts

Sending you a loud cooooeeee from under a pile of handsewn (20-25 stitches to the inch) hexagonal "flower" motifs, awaiting joining up into a quilt for my granddaughter. I was smart enough not to promise to finish it before her 21st birthday, which  gives me another 13 years.  Mostly I stitch and meditate when I'm on holidays ... used to sew on planes, bugga!

I only do handsewn, only patch with used fabric and have great respect for the traditional patterns and methods.  Love Amish quilts. I aspire to sew one out of men's suiting fabric before my eyesight fails.

Cheers,
PP

Re: quilts

hey there, nice to see other sew' ers out there. i could (and do) spend the whole day sewing. wash up later, kinda stuff. i seem to be getting a nice collection of quilt tops going. and hope one day to actually quilt and finish them. i am amassing a cool fabric stash (a shopping weakness,) cant pass a fabric shop without popping just to have a look. and always come out with a bagful.
