Crocheting
Hi everyone, I'm relatively new here, but i couldn't help noticing all the knitting posts, so I'm opening up a crochet one!!! Anyone got a crocheting project they're working on? I'm currently making a baby blanket for my sisters soon-to-come kid, just a simple dc pattern.

Re: Crocheting
Hey, remarkable as it seems lol... I do crochet... have made many blankets of all colours, some way ugly and some themed beautifully... I can knit but I find that a little tame for me, as such, but do like the expression in crocheting and its also way quick to see results... good luck hey with your post...

Re: Crocheting
Hi everyone,
I crochet with wire to form earrings, pendants, bracelets and rings - well that is the limit so far! Is anybody else into wire?

Re: Crocheting
I neither crochet or knit, its one of my 'one day I'll learn' things... I have to ask tho, whats the difference in how the final product looks... Silly question I guess

Re: Crocheting
Well I don't think it is a silly question. Not sure how to answer the question from a 'normal' crocheting point of view.
But with metal the weave is tighter or looser depending on the thickness of the wire and the size of the hooks. Larger hook - thicker wire = more open weave.
You can also change the weave with the stitches chosen. So single crochet is the tightest, then double crochet and the most open weave is triple.
Hope that helps xx

Re: Crocheting
Finally! Crocheting totally rules and knitting drives me insane. I crochet everything and anything, if it can be made I've given it a go. Its just so much faster to see a result and with just one hook, it is so much easier to do and carry around compared to knitting and needles. Though I must admit there are some really pretty combinations of knit and crochet out there. I collect every pattern I can so when I'm old and senile, hopefully my fingers will remember what my brain will not and I can crochet my casket JK!!! But I will be doing it forever, no matter how in or out of fashion it becomes. Wow, I'm going to shut up now because I sound scarey passionate. Sorry Guys.

Re: Crocheting
I love Crochet!! Can't knit at all... and am still learning to crochet to be honest; my beanie hats often end up being to small and scarfs look... very handmade... Would love to make a blanket sometime. Anyone any tips on which yarn to use or where to get cheap yarn? (I'm only a poor student after all)
