I wonder...why? I didn't bother with any of the sums except the last. Maybe "red" is the first colour most people think of and "hammer" the most popular tool. I would like to know how that works.

yellow hammer so sort of semi average? half normal?
sandwich short of a picnic or screwdriver short of a toolbox.

Suppose maths takes it out of your brain so you don't want to think too hard and pick the most common things.
